Patients: We treated many different people who sustained concussions in many different ways.
- 6,641 unique patients
- 17,526 patient visits
- 43% of patients were men
- 57% of patients were women
- We treated patients from more than 20 universities across the country.
- We treated patients from 31 professional sports teams.
- We treated patients who participated in 17 different sports.
- We enrolled more than 2,000 patients in clinical studies.
Research Funding: We received a lot of help from others, allowing us to help even more.
- Received over $6 million in external funding for concussion research.
- We received funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Army, the National Football League, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Publications: As leaders, we shared our knowledge with many – an idea that’s very important to us.
- Our faculty published more than 35 publications.
- Publications in journals including American Journal of Sports Medicine, Brain Imaging and Behavior, Neurosurgery, Neurotrauma, and Pediatrics.
